About OpenMac

OpenMac is an independent, curated directory of open source software for the Apple ecosystem — Mac, iPhone, iPad, Watch, TV and Vision — with hands-on reviews written after real daily use, not after reading a changelog.

Every listing is checked against three rules: a real open source license, something you can actually install, and signs of life within the last six months. Metadata (stars, latest release, licenses) is refreshed automatically, so a stale project never masquerades as a living one.

Reviews follow a fixed template — install, first run, a stretch of daily use, and a verdict with a score — because opinions are only useful when you can see how they were formed.

Free your Mac. It can do anything.
